FIRST BOCA SCHOOLHOUSE PICTURED NOW IN ALL CITY SCHOOLS

Built in 1908, the Schoolhouse is now enjoying a centennial anniversary. The Boca Raton Historical Society and Museum has presented framed photographs to all city schools as part of the observance of Boca Raton’s Centennial School Year. The first students and the teacher are pictured standing in front of the building. In 1920, a new masonry school building was constructed at the site of the present Boca Raton Elementary School. A new DVD, “The History of Boca Raton,” was also presented to all the city’s schools. Information about school programs and Boca Raton history can be found at http://www.bocahistory.org.
